Glenn Mauney, from the Pittsburgh area, looked at the concert grand with surprise. He crawled under it to inspect the player and speaker mechanisms marveling at the reality of its sound. Only later, when he sat and played did he really glow with happiness. “I am a Steinway man,” he said, “but what a wonderful instrument this is.” What a joy to hear him play. He later admitted to having played professionally in his past.
Glenn and his wife Doty met their friends, Bob and Jan Krehbiel from Cincinnati, at the Inn at Dresden for a reunion similar to what they have been doing for years. The Inn is just about half way between their respective homes in Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. For the past several years they have been meeting at various Ohio inns that are part of the Select Registry of Distinguished Inns of North America, but this was their first time to stay at The Inn at Dresden, which is also a member of the Select Registry of Distinguished Inns of North America. Taking advantage of the warmer weather they toured the shops in Dresden, visited the Longaberger Homestead, and walked the trail from the village.
